ABOUT US

We work with mills based in and around the city of Denizli Turkey, a city with a rich history and tradition of weaving. We take our name from the nearby Pamukkale, meaning “cotton castle” in Turkish,  a natural site famous for its hot springs and enormous white terraces of snow-white limestone, shaped over millennia by calcium-rich springs.

As legend has it, the modern day loop bath-towel construction was invented in the Denizli region sometime during the 15th Century when a craftsman applied rug weaving techniques to towel production. This towel proved to be a much more absorbent and quick-drying towel than it’s flat-towel predecessors. This towel construction is still used today and the expert weavers of the region continue to produce towels of unmatched quality and continue the tradition of textile innovation.
